Applicant must apply for Visa by visiting www.indiavisaonline.gov.in and clicking on “Online Application Link”.

Hand written Visa applications are no longer accepted in maximum Indian Post/Mission.

After completing the form, take its printout, sign on it, attach all the required documents with it and submit it at your respective Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) or to Indian Post/Mission on the same day your interview is scheduled.

Photo Requirements on India Visa Application

Applicants can provide digital photographs while filling their online application forms.

The specifications of the pictures that are uploaded are given below:

The photograph should be in JPEG format

The size of the photograph should be at least 10 KB and at most 300 KB
-
The Photograph should be of the following dimensions:

Minimum dimensions: 350 pixels (height) x 350 pixels (width)

Maximum dimensions: 1000 pixels (height) x1000 pixels (width)

The applicant’s complete face in front view, with both eyes open should be visible in the photograph

The photograph should be in the white background
-
There must not be any face or a shadow in the background of the photo. No shadows on the face or on the background

Photograph should be without borders
Fee for Indian Visa

The Visa fee varies for different types and duration of visas.
-
There are several types of visas: Special fee, Basic fee and Processing fee given to the outsourcing agency.

After completing the form, the basic fee that appears on the screen is just approximate and the complete visa fee is paid while the applicant submits his/her application.

If a visa application is cancelled or rejected, it does not mean that the applicant will receive his/her visa fee back.

Applicants can gather information about the visa fee and how can they pay by visiting local embassy office or Indian Visa Application center website.

Applicants who are well connected with the trade of tourism, they may get a visa valid for 5 years or more.

If an applicant holds a visa which is valid for 180 days, he/she must get themselves registered within 14 days of their arrival,

Applicants can submit their Applications between 0930 hrs and 1200 hours on any working day.
Note: Indian and Nepalese Citizens require following documents to enter the other country and prove their nationality:

Instructions before filling up the online application form for Indian Visa

Applicant who are applying for Indian Visa from outside India must apply online

Each applicant must fill his/her own separate Online Visa application, including children.

All the information and details required in the form must be given accurately.

All the information provided in the form must be verified before submitting. Applicants can save the form in case they need time to submit it.

After the submission of the forms, no correction can be made. If any information appears to be false/wrong, the application form can be rejected by the Embassy.

Each and every applicant must save the File Number which appears on the screen after they have submitted their application form.

Appointment Scheduling:

Applicant has the right to set the date for his/her interview as per his/her convenience.

It is mandatory for every applicant to set up a separate interview with the Indian Mission

Process for filling up online application form:

Applicant can apply for India Visa by visiting http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa.

After reaching the website, click on Indian Mission from where you are applying for Indian Visa from the tab “Select Mission”.

The form must be filled in the given format by the Ministry.
-
Each and every applicant must save the File Number which appears on the screen after they have submitted their application form.

Applicant then can either chose to select ‘Yes’ for seeking appointment with the Indian Mission and for paying Visa Fee online or select ‘No’ for just getting its printout.

If Selected “No”, get the printout, sign on it, attach all the necessary documents and submit it to the Embassy with the Visa fees.

If Selected “yes”, then fill in the following steps:

Note: If the applicant’s respective Indian Mission does not allow e-payment facility, applicant must visit the outsourcing agency or their respective mission for submitting the documents, the form and the visa fees.
