Tourist Visa on Arrival for Indonesian National

After State Visit of President of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to India, an announcement has been made regarding the introduction of Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVOA) scheme for the citizens of Indonesia, who are wishing to travel India, aiming to increase the tourism between the two countries. This facility has been active since 25th January 2011.

For tourists, Visa-on-Arrival is valid for a maximum period of 30 days with Single Entry facility. The Immigration Officers at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi and Hyderabad will provide this facility. US $ 60/- or equivalent sum in Indian Rupees per applicant must be paid. Tourist Visa-on-Arrival will be non-convertible and non-extendable. An Indonesian National can avail Visa on Arrival only twice in a calendar year, within a period of two months.

Applicants, requiring a medical treatment can avail TVOA for 30 days, and also for a casual business or visiting friends/relatives etc. Indonesian Nationals, who are holding Official/Diplomatic passports, cannot use this facility. Also, Indonesian nationals may also avail TVOA for up to 30 days for medical treatment, for casual business or to visit friends/relatives, etc. The TVOA facility is not applicable to the holders of Diplomatic/Official Passports. Also, applicants who have a permanent residence or business in India, they can enter India under Normal Visa.

Hand written Visas are no longer accepted. Applicants must fill the Visa application form online. After completing the form, save the form, get a printout, sign on it and submit it at the Visa Counter of the Indian Embassy in Jakarta. Attach all the required documents with your application forms and the requisite Visa fee in currency Rupiah.
Processing Time:

The time taken to process Applications is generally two days. Applicants can collect their serviced passports between 4.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. from the counter on the next day of their submission of form. For Non-Indonesian nationals, the time period is more than 2 days as an approval required from authorities in India, or other Indian embassies.

The responsibility of checking the status on Visa lies in the hands of the applicant. The applicant can collect his /her passport whenever it is required for him/her to do so. The applicant should immediately check the details of the visa, including the time period and the kinds of Visa, after approval. If there is any sort of discrepancy in the Visa, the applicant must contact Consular Section at once. No complaint will be entertained later on.

An applicant should not apply for Visa more than two weeks in advance, unless he/she has other travel plans. For this purpose, the applicant must show his/her itinerary giving evidence for the reasons of applying for visa in advance and also indicating the date of departure from Indonesia.
Non-Indonesian Citizens: Additional requirements

Non-Indonesia nationals must provide a copy of their KIMAS/KITAS/ DINAS.

Non-Indonesia nationals holding a tourist or other short-term visa for Indonesia can apply at Indian Embassy in Jakarta under special circumstance or case of emergency. The foreign national must provide an extra sum of Rp.142, 000 so that a reference could be established from the respective Indian Mission of the applicant. It takes at least 4-5 working days to process such applications.
