Malaysia Visa Information

• All applicants must hold national passport with a valid visa obtained from their respective Indian Mission.
• Under the Government of India’s Foreigners Act, every foreign national has the right to avail an Indian visa.
• If an applicant wishes to apply for an Individual visa he/she must visit the website http://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ to get the online application form. Hand written forms are no longer accepted. 
• If an applicant needs help in filling up the form, he/she can visit the website http://www.indianhighcommission.com.my/Pdf/Online_Visa_application_Guide.pdf.
• If an applicant wishes to check the guidelines for uploading online photos for visa application, visit http://passport.gov.in/visa/VSS_IMAGE.pdf.
• All the foreign Nationals, other than Malaysian Nationals, must fill an extra form.
• All the details in the visa application form must be filled. If any field is left incomplete or unfilled, the visa application may be rejected.
• When an applicant completes his form, he/she must get its printout, attach all the required documents and photos with it and also put down his/her signature on it and submit it to any of the Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) with the required visa fees.
• The time period of the validity of Visa begins from the date when it is issued and not from the date the applicant arrives to India.
• Visa Application Processing Period:
  • Malaysian Nationals: Generally 3 working days
  • Non- Malaysian Nationals: High Commission takes a minimum of 5 working days for approving visa and 3 working days for stamping on visa.
• Applicants who apply for the grant of visas for following reasons can get their visa applications accepted at the premises by The High Commission of India:
  • Applicants, who are not Nationals of Malaysia, and hold Diplomatic and Official passports
  • Gratis visas to the invitees from the State Government bodies/Government of India
  • For issuing visas in case of an emergency
• Applicants who need gratis visas on diplomatic and official passports and in cases of emergencies must apply online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/. For filling the additional form for this purpose, they must visit http://www.indianhighcommission.com.my/pdf/add_form.pdf.

Visa Fees

• Malaysian Passport Holders:  
  • Tourist visa (multiple entry) valid for up to six months: RM161.56
  • Business Visa: (upto one year): RM 465.56/- (for Malaysians only)
  • Student Visa: (upto five years): RM 294.56/-
  • Entry Visa (upto six months): RM 313.56/- (upto one year: RM 465.56/-), above one year to five years – RM 769.56/-
  • Employment Visa: RM 465.56/- (upto one year) (for Malaysians only)
  • Conference Visa: RM 313.56/-
  • Transfer of Visa: RM 28.56/-
  • Transit Visa: RM 85.56/-

 Note: IVAC Service Fee of RM 1.56 is included in the mentioned fees list.

• Non- Malaysian Passport Holders:
  • Tourist visa (multiple entry) valid for up to six months: RM161.56
  • Tourist visa (multiple entry) for Singapore nationals- valid for up to six months: RM 104.56
  • Transit visa: RM 85.56
  • Multiple entry Student visa  (valid for  the duration of course or 5 years, whichever is less): RM 294.56
  • All other types of multiple entry visas (other than tourist, transit and student visas) valid for:
    • up to six months: RM313.56
    • up to one year: RM 465.56
    • up to five years:  RM 769.56

Note: IVAC Service Fee of RM 1.56 is included in the mentioned fees list..

• Nationals of the 15 countries mentioned below have to pay different charges if they wish to apply for Business visa.
